Inanna is the Queen of Heaven in Sumerian mythology, worshiped as a goddess symbolizing sex, reproduction and war, and constantly takes over the domains of other deities. The most famous myth about her is the story of her descent into the underworld. Inanna went to the underworld to take the power of the Lord of the Underworld named Ereshkigal, who is also her elder sister. The law of the underworld is that no one who goes down to the underworld can go back freely, even the God.
Undaunted, she puts on seven holy garments. Each garment is a representation of a powerful mes* she possesses. Every time Inanna passes through a gate, she needs to remove one garment she wear, thus stripping her power. At the end of the journey, Inanna is naked, and she dies because of being given the eye of death. However, in this work, death is not the end of Inanna, but she will be reborn in her blood and return triumphantly as a goddess.
